The Mufflerman started in 1964 as part
of a larger auto centre which included mostly auto sales along
with auto body repair and minor repairs on Ontario St., in Sarnia,
Ontario.
Mr. John Brouwer purchased the Mufflerman name in April 1964.
The business was taken to a small two bay rented shop to become
Sarnia's first exclusive muffler shop.
A few years later Mr. Brouwer purchased property on Exmouth
Street in Sarnia and constructed a new four bay shop.
A second location was started in Stratford, Ontario in 1971.
From there, The Mufflerman had grown to 13 locations by 1991.
Today The Mufflerman offers an extensive range of automobile
services including brakes, exhausts, suspension and steering,
and Drive Clean emission testing and repairs.
